Filoli Photoshoot Guide and Timeline
Filoli is a stunning location to enjoy year round, and is one of my favorite locations to photograph! So here is a full guide on what you need to know about Filoli!
The greenhouse
A great spot to stop and sit for a minute or grab a few extra creative photos any time of year! This little green house is perfect inside and outside!
The pools
While the pools and ponds are stunning photo ops, you may only look at these stunning water features, not swim in them! There are three main pools/fountains. The tower pond and the blue pool are directly across from each other just outside the greenhouse. The tower pond is most popular for photos, but, you shouldn’t overlook the blue pool to sit and talk with your friends!
Nursery and Gift shop
Located around the corner from the main estate house, you can purchase an array of plants and gifts from hand made soaps to ornaments and snow globes.
Rose Garden
The rose garden typically blooms during the summer, think mid June if you are wanting to save your trip for the rose garden. The rose garden is located passed the wall located behind the greenhouse.
Tulips
If you are wanting to see hundreds of species of tulips, you should visit from late march through early may. The tulips are located all throughout the entirety of the property.
Christmas lights
The Christmas lights are one of the most popular attractions at Filoli, including dripping string lights from the trees to a light tunnel for you and your family to enjoy! The lights are usually available for viewing just after Thanksgiving.
Photoshoots
Photoshoots are allowed on the property, however, you cannot bring live flowers onto the property to avoid cross pollination. You also cannot use additional equipment like lightstands. If you’re interested in booking a Filoli photoshoot, tickets included, click here!
