WWIRE - Wellness for Women in Real Estate; Women’s Health; San Francisco 2025
This post recaps and visually celebrates an inspiring WWIRE networking and educational event focused on Mature Women’s Health—especially perimenopause, menopause, hormones, and evidence-based hormone therapy options (including hormone patches). I’ll share highlights from Dr. Cheruba Prabakar’s talk, what I looked for as the event photographer, photo storytelling opportunities at a corporate wellness gathering, and why documenting conversations like these matters for women in real estate—and all women navigating hormonal change.
If you’re planning a corporate wellness program, a professional development mixer, or a women-led industry event in the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento region, this behind-the-scenes look will help you plan for photography that informs, empowers, and connects your community.
Quick Takeaways
Real talk about perimenopause & menopause: Symptoms vary widely; get informed early so you can advocate for yourself.
Hormones are tools, not taboos: Modern hormone therapy—including transdermal patches, gels, and other delivery methods—can relieve symptoms and support long-term health for appropriate candidates under medical guidance.
Community reduces stigma: When professionals gather in a supportive setting (thank you, WWIRE & Haworth!), women feel seen, heard, and better equipped to make care decisions.
Photography amplifies impact: High-quality imagery extends the conversation beyond the room—driving post-event education, sponsor visibility, and ongoing engagement.
About WWIRE: Wellness for Women in Real Estate
WWIRE creates spaces where industry professionals can learn, network, and support one another around whole-person wellness—because the women driving deals, design, development, and property strategy deserve the same investment they bring to the market. By spotlighting health topics that are often under-discussed (like perimenopause and menopause), WWIRE strengthens both community bonds and professional resilience.
Thank You to Our Event Sponsor: Haworth
A huge shout-out to Haworth, who opened their beautifully designed San Francisco showroom to host this important conversation. Thoughtful environments support thoughtful dialogue—and the modern, light-filled Haworth space gave us room to learn, connect, and photograph meaningful moments. (Please confirm if sponsor credit should read Haworth or Howarth so I can match branding.)
Meet the Speaker: Dr. Cheruba Prabakar
Dr. Cheruba Prabakar is a board-certified OBGYN and fellowship-trained minimally invasive surgeon whose care philosophy centers on compassion, access, and long-term wellness across the full spectrum of womanhood—from first periods (menarche) to the menopause transition and beyond.
She is known for:
Fertility-sparing fibroid surgery & endometrial polyp removal.
Supporting patients navigating IVF and complex hormonal concerns.
Providing individualized menopause care as a nationally certified menopause practitioner.
Educating and myth-busting around hormone therapy safety, timing, and delivery methods.
Extending impact globally through educational initiatives for girls in South India.
Her practice, Lamorinda Gynecology and Surgery, reflects her commitment to sustainable, evidence-based, and patient-led care. She’s also a dynamic speaker featured in media outlets including Arise America and Essence magazine.
What We Learned: Hormones, Aging & Options
Below are key educational themes I heard (and photographed visual aids for!) during Dr. Prabakar’s session. Always consult your own healthcare provider; individual needs vary.
1. Perimenopause vs. Menopause
Perimenopause: The transition years leading up to menopause—often beginning in the 40s (earlier for some)—marked by cycle changes, hormonal fluctuations, and symptoms like sleep disruption, mood shifts, hot flashes, and brain fog.
Menopause: Clinically defined as 12 consecutive months without a menstrual period (not caused by another condition). Symptom patterns may shift, but support remains important.
2. Common Symptoms & Quality of Life
Hot flashes, night sweats, weight redistribution, vaginal dryness, low libido, anxiety, and disrupted sleep can affect work performance and relationships—making workplace awareness and support crucial in industries like real estate where networking and travel are common.
3. Hormone Testing & Personalization
Lab work, symptom tracking, and medical history help determine whether hormone therapy is appropriate. Not every woman needs or chooses it—but when indicated, individualized dosing matters.
4. Hormone Therapy Delivery Methods
Dr. Prabakar discussed multiple delivery options—each with pros, considerations, and candidacy guidelines:
Transdermal hormone patches (steady dosing; often well tolerated; may reduce certain risk profiles compared with some oral forms in specific populations).
Topical gels or sprays.
Oral formulations (estrogen, progesterone, combined).
Vaginal rings, creams, tablets for localized symptom relief.
IUD with progestin as a protective or multi-purpose option in some treatment plans.
5. Timing & Safety Conversations
Current evidence supports that, for many healthy women who begin hormone therapy within a certain window of menopause onset (often referenced as the “timing hypothesis”), benefits may outweigh risks—especially for symptom relief and bone health—when managed by a knowledgeable provider. Risk factors (history of certain cancers, clotting disorders, etc.) must be evaluated.
6. Lifestyle Tools That Complement Hormone Care
Nutrition, movement, sleep management, stress reduction, and social support all play a role. Many attendees shared real-life strategies—one of my favorite parts to capture in candid photos.

Photographing a Women’s Health Education Event: My Approach
Documenting an educational wellness event is different from photographing a gala or awards dinner. The goal is connection + clarity—showing learning, engagement, and the humanity behind the data.
Here’s how I approached the WWIRE x Haworth evening:
Pre-Event Planning
Reviewed the run-of-show and key talking points (hormones, patches, menopause myths) to anticipate powerful slide moments.
Coordinated with Haworth staff on lighting zones and sponsor signage framing.
Confirmed any privacy requests (e.g., attendees who preferred not to be photographed).
Storytelling Priorities Onsite
Venue atmosphere – establishing shots of the Haworth showroom so viewers know where this happened.
Branding & sponsor gratitude – signage with WWIRE + Haworth logos; detail shots of event materials.
Speaker energy – expressive portraits of Dr. Prabakar mid-talk, gesturing to slides, engaging in Q&A.
Educational content – wide shots including presentation slides that reference hormone therapy tools (patches, delivery methods, symptom charts).
Attendee engagement – listening, note-taking, laughter, “aha” reactions.
Networking moments – women from across real estate roles connecting in small groups.
Hands-on visuals – if demo materials (like mock hormone patches, educational handouts, or sample packaging) were shown, I photographed them as clean detail frames.
Technical & Creative Notes
Shot primarily with fast primes (35mm & 85mm) for low-light showroom conditions without flash distraction.
Used available ambient + subtle bounced light during networking; switched to controlled flash only for group photos.
Captured both horizontal hero images for banners and vertical crops for social reels & blog headers.
What to wear to your bay area and sacramento engagement photos
One of the most common questions I get before an engagement shoot is: “What should we wear?” And honestly, I get it—these photos will live on your walls, your wedding website, and probably your save-the-dates. You want to look amazing, feel confident, and still feel like you.
So here’s your go-to guide for what to wear for your engagement session, straight from a professional photographer’s perspective.
1. Coordinate, Don’t Match
You don’t need to wear the same color or outfit—but you should aim for complementary tones. Think in terms of a color palette: soft neutrals, earth tones, pastels, or jewel tones work beautifully. Avoid clashing patterns or neon colors that can distract from your connection.
2. Stick to Timeless Over Trendy
These photos will be around long after TikTok trends fade. Go for classic pieces that won’t look dated in a few years. A flowy dress, a well-fitted blazer, or a button-up shirt never goes out of style.
3. Dress for the Location & Season
Are we shooting on a beach at golden hour? Think breezy, barefoot, and sun-kissed. In the forest or mountains? Layers, boots, and cozy textures. Let the setting inspire your outfits so you look naturally at home in the space.
4. Bring Two Outfits (Optional but Fun!)
One dressy and one casual gives you variety in your gallery. Maybe a romantic maxi dress for one look and jeans with a cute top for the other. It also helps if you’re torn between styles.
5. Choose Clothes That Move Well
Flowy fabrics photograph beautifully, especially in motion or wind. If your dress or top sways with your movement, it adds a dreamy, romantic feel to the photos.
6. Avoid Distracting Prints and Logos
Busy patterns can steal focus and large logos can feel out of place. Solid colors or subtle prints tend to work best, especially when paired with texture like linen, knit, or denim.
7. Pay Attention to Footwear
Your shoes should fit the location and your style. Heels might look great but not if we’re walking through sand or a forest trail. Bring backups just in case!
8. Style Hair & Makeup a Bit More Than Usual
You don’t need to go full glam (unless you want to!), but a little extra polish helps the camera pick up your features. Some couples also use this shoot as a hair or makeup trial for the wedding day.
9. Bring Accessories or Layers
A hat, scarf, jacket, or statement earrings can help you switch things up without a full outfit change. They also add visual interest to your photos.
10. Be Yourself—Just a Bit Elevated
Wear something you feel amazing in. If you’re uncomfortable, it’ll show. Choose outfits that feel like a more polished version of your everyday style, so your confidence shines through.
Bonus Tip: When in doubt, I’m happy to help you decide! I’ve helped so many couples choose outfits that photograph beautifully. You can even send me a few options and I’ll give you honest, professional feedback before our shoot.

Temescal Beach House LGBTQ+ Wedding
Nestled along the serene shores of Lake Temescal, Temescal Beach House in Oakland, California, set the stage for an unforgettable LGBTQ+ wedding celebration filled with joy, authenticity, and love. This historic East Bay venue was the perfect blend of natural charm and cozy intimacy, with an outdoor ceremony under the trees and an indoor reception bursting with soft lilac hues, fragrant lavender, and hand-picked succulents.
A Ceremony Surrounded by Nature
The couple exchanged vows on the sandy lakeshore, surrounded by the calming waters and towering trees of Temescal Regional Recreation Area. The ceremony space featured accessible walking paths and a picturesque lake backdrop ideal for nature lovers and those dreaming of a relaxed, outdoor wedding.
Guests were greeted by soft breezes, shaded seating, and a laid-back California vibe that made every moment feel personal and grounded. It’s a venue that invites celebration without pretense — and lets love take center stage.
The Grooms’ Dapper Details
Both grooms looked radiant in ivory satin-finish suits, complemented by floral boutonnieres and soft green accents in their neckwear. Their style struck the perfect balance of classic and expressive, a celebration of queerness and elegance without compromise.
Their wedding party was just as bold and vibrant — dressed in a gradient of sage, lilac, and lavender tones. From flowing lavender gowns to soft green satins and silky champagne neutrals, the colors tied seamlessly into the surrounding nature and the floral decor of the day.
Reception Inside the Temescal Beach House
The Temescal Beach House interior provided a warm, wood-accented setting for the couple’s intimate reception. The tablescapes were a dream: round tables draped in lilac linens, centerpieces of potted succulents, scattered sprigs of dried lavender, and vintage-inspired purple glassware. Soft afternoon light filtered in through the windows, creating the most romantic ambiance for toasts, dancing, and heartfelt conversations.
The venue includes:
Indoor dining and dancing space for up to 80 guests
Outdoor ceremony options by the lake
Kitchen access for catering

Thoughtful Wedding Details
The grooms’ wedding bands were photographed with blooming marigolds and mossy rocks, infusing meaning into every texture and color.
A window lace detail from the dressing suite added a vintage touch to the bridal prep.
Guests enjoyed free nearby parking and the calm, natural beauty of a lakeside venue in the middle of the city.

Bay Area and Sacramento Engagement and Wedding Photographer Review
Haley & Caleb
2024
I had planned a photo shoot as a 1 year anniversary gift for me and my boyfriend with Alex, and my boyfriend, behind my back, messaged her through instagram and planned a surprise proposal for me many months ahead of the photo shoot date. Alex was kind enough to plan exactly how they wanted to do it, as well as drive to Monterey for the photo shoot. She was extremely professional while also being very kind and personal to our personalities and integrating that into the poses and photos we had done! I whole heartedly recommend Alex for all of your photo needs, she will make sure everyone is comfortable. She’s hilarious and fun and certainly has a place in my heart.

Boudoir, but make it metal
his isn’t your typical boudoir session.
Think less lace and soft lighting — and more warrior goddess energy. This chainmail boudoir shoot was all about raw power, unapologetic confidence, and fierce feminine fire. We shot on location at Seal Cove Cypress Tree Tunnel and Moss Beach in Half Moon Bay — a coastal gem that feels straight out of a mythic dream. Towering trees, golden light, moody textures, and ocean views made this the perfect setting for a boudoir session that breaks all the rules.
Alternative Boudoir, Reimagined
Boudoir isn’t one-size-fits-all. Whether your vibe is soft and sultry or bold and battle-ready, your session should reflect your version of power and beauty. For this shoot, we ditched the traditional lingerie for handcrafted chainmail, and let the ocean breeze and ancient trees do the rest. Add in some badass ink, a spiked flail, and a fearless attitude — and we had something truly unforgettable.
Location Perks: Easy, Scenic, and Totally Worth It
Seal Cove and Moss Beach are not only stunning — they’re also super accessible.
Here’s why this spot works so well for a shoot like this:
Free parking until sunset right near the trailhead
Defined, easy-to-navigate trails leading through the Cypress Tree Tunnel and down to the beach
Public restrooms nearby
A shoe brush station at the top of the beach trail to help clean off your feet and make the walk back a breeze
Whether you’re in full fantasy gear or just want a barefoot-in-the-sand moment, this location supports the vision without the stress.
Reclaiming Boudoir for You
Too often, boudoir is boxed in as one very specific aesthetic. But this session was a reminder that you don’t have to soften yourself to be sexy — you can be sharp, loud, armored, or wild and still take up space in front of the lens. Boudoir is about being seen, celebrated, and owning your power — whatever that looks like.
Ready to Book Your Own Bold Boudoir?
Whether you dream of a chainmail fantasy session like this, or want to explore something completely unique — let’s make it happen. Your body, your story, your rules.
📍Serving Half Moon Bay, the San Francisco Bay Area, and beyond.

SFSU Graduation Photoshoot
Some of the best spots are the least expected spots, and I think that really shows in this San Francisco State University graduation photoshoot.
My client, Sonya, chose a two location package and chose her campus, SFSU, and the civic center!
When I am photographing portraits of any kind, I really pay attention to the light, which is why standing in a bunch of bushes ends up working out so well. Which leads me to my first unexpected spot! Right outside the nursing building, there are these large, square columns, which I actually find really ugly. BUT, the way the light was hitting the plants and the columns made everything seem so much more magical!
Second, and less unexpected are the large, round stairs in the center of the campus.
Thirdly, The mini tree grove surrounding the open field. If photographed correctly, this little spot can look like a lot more trees. Bonus points, these trees provide a lot of shade during mid-day sessions!
Every part of the civic center is absolutely beautiful. San Francisco’s city hall tends to be the central focus, but when that spot is busy, any of the surrounding historical buildings make for beautiful backdrops, again, it all depends on lighting, angles, and perspective.

📝 Tips for Planning Your Church Wedding in SF
1. Book Early—Like, Really Early
Churches in SF can book out over a year in advance, especially the well-known ones. Reach out as soon as you have your date—or even a season—in mind. Some parishes prioritize members, so if you’re set on a specific church, be prepared to attend a few services or connect with the community.
2. Ask About Rules and Restrictions
Every church is different. Some don’t allow flash photography, certain music, or outside officiants. Others might require pre-marriage counseling or specific attire. Always ask for a copy of their wedding guidelines up front so there are no surprises.
3. Be Mindful of Guest Count
Churches vary greatly in size—Grace Cathedral can seat hundreds, while Swedenborgian Church is more intimate. Make sure your guest list matches your space, or be open to adjusting it.
4. Budget for the Extras
Some churches charge a ceremony fee (anywhere from $500 to $4,000+), and it might not include a rehearsal, officiant, or even seating setup. Double-check what's included and what you'll need to hire or plan separately.
5. Plan for Parking & Accessibility
Many SF churches are located in busy neighborhoods with limited parking. Look into nearby garages or valet options and communicate them clearly to guests. Also, confirm that the church is wheelchair accessible if needed.
6. Consider the Lighting for Photos
Some churches are naturally dark or restrict flash photography. Chat with your photographer about lighting gear, timing for natural light, and whether you can sneak in portraits before or after the ceremony.
📸 Bonus: Photography Tips for Church Ceremonies
As a photographer, I always recommend:
Checking if we can attend the rehearsal to plan our movements.
Capturing details like stained glass, florals, and altar setups before guests arrive.
Stealing a few quiet moments for portraits near the altar after the ceremony if allowed.
Your church wedding deserves to be documented beautifully and respectfully, so clear communication between your photographer and the venue is key.
💒 Final Thoughts
A church wedding in San Francisco can be both spiritual and stunning, steeped in meaning and tradition. With a bit of preparation and the right team behind you, your ceremony can be the heartfelt highlight of your wedding day.

Bay Area Peninsula Photoshoot locations
Top Photoshoot Locations on the San Francisco Peninsula
The Best Backdrops for Portraits, Branding, and Self-Love Sessions
As a Bay Area photographer, I’m lucky to have access to some of the most stunning and diverse locations in California — and many of my favorite hidden gems are right here on the San Francisco Peninsula. Whether you’re looking for lush forests, dreamy coastlines, or modern architecture, this stretch of land between San Francisco and San Jose has it all.
Here are some of my top recommended locations for your next photoshoot — perfect for couples, creatives, entrepreneurs, and anyone wanting to feel beautiful and confident in front of the camera.
1. Stanford Cactus Garden – Palo Alto
This often-overlooked desert oasis on the Stanford University campus is full of unique textures, golden tones, and cactus silhouettes that photograph beautifully year-round. It’s especially dreamy during golden hour, giving a warm, editorial look to any shoot.
Best For: Personal branding, couples, fashion/editorial vibes
Pro Tip: Flat shoes are a must — the dirt paths are a little rugged but worth it!
2. Windy Hill Open Space Preserve – Portola Valley
If you're a nature lover, Windy Hill offers sweeping hilltop views, tall grass, and tree-lined trails. It’s especially breathtaking in the spring when everything is green and glowing.
Best For: Engagement sessions, dreamy self-love portraits, outdoor brand sessions
Pro Tip: The hike is mild, but plan ahead for wind — it adds gorgeous movement to hair and clothing!
3. Half Moon Bay – Coastal Access Points
Okay, technically it’s just west of the Peninsula, but I couldn’t not include it. From dramatic cliffs to soft sand beaches, Half Moon Bay has multiple coastal access points (like Poplar Beach or Cowell Ranch) that offer variety within a single session.
Best For: Empowering beach boudoir, maternity, couples, and dreamy portrait sessions
Pro Tip: Bring a towel or wrap — the weather changes fast, and it gets chilly!
4. Filoli Historic House & Gardens – Woodside
Filoli is elegance and charm rolled into one. With beautifully manicured gardens, ivy-covered walls, and European-style architecture, it's a favorite for romantic and timeless photos.
Best For: Romantic portraits, branding for creatives or florists, lifestyle sessions
Pro Tip: You’ll need to purchase a ticket and sometimes arrange a photography permit, so let’s plan ahead!
5. Redwood Groves – Los Altos & Woodside
Want to be surrounded by towering redwoods? Hidden gems like the Redwood Grove Nature Preserve in Los Altos or Huddart Park in Woodside offer peaceful forest vibes without the long drive to Muir Woods.
Best For: Empowering portraits, spiritual/self-love sessions, family photos
Pro Tip: The filtered light through the trees creates a soft, flattering glow.
6. Downtown Palo Alto or Redwood City – Urban Branding
Need something with a bit more edge or structure? The downtown areas of Palo Alto and Redwood City have murals, coffee shops, brick walls, and modern office buildings — perfect for a clean, urban look.
Best For: Professional headshots, branding for creatives, lifestyle entrepreneurs
Pro Tip: Let’s shoot early or mid-week to avoid crowds and catch the best light.
Choosing the Right Spot for You
The perfect location depends on your vibe, your wardrobe, and how you want your photos to feel. When we book a session together, I’ll help guide you to the best fit for your story — whether that’s barefoot on the beach or twirling under a canopy of redwoods.

Headshots and Professional Portraits on the Peninsula
Let’s be honest — most people don’t love getting their photo taken. But if you're a woman building your brand or business, professional headshots aren’t just a “nice to have” — they’re a powerful way to show up with confidence and clarity in your space.
Here’s my no-stress guide to booking and prepping for your headshots so you actually enjoy the experience and walk away with photos that feel like YOU.
1. Know Your Brand Vibe
Before you book, take a moment to reflect on your brand identity. Are you laid-back and creative? Polished and professional? Bold and unapologetic? Your photos should reflect that. When we connect, I’ll ask questions about your brand, your audience, and how you plan to use your images — so we can tailor the shoot to you.
2. Choose a Photographer You Feel Comfortable With
Connection matters. You should feel seen, heard, and relaxed with your photographer — especially for something as personal as a headshot. As a female photographer, I create a space where you don’t have to shrink yourself or perform — just show up, and I’ll guide you from there.
3. Outfits Matter, But Comfort Matters More
Choose outfits that make you feel good and align with your brand. Bring a few options, and I’ll help you pick what works best on camera. Stick to solid colors or subtle textures, and avoid busy patterns or logos unless they’re part of your brand identity. Pro tip: steam your clothes ahead of time!
4. Hair & Makeup: Do What Feels True to You
You don’t have to go full glam (unless that’s your thing!). Clean, polished, and natural always works. If you want a little extra confidence boost, I can recommend some amazing HMUAs who specialize in photo-ready beauty.
5. Relax — I’ll Guide You the Whole Time
You don’t need to know how to pose. That’s my job. I’ll direct you with natural prompts and movements to bring out your genuine expressions. We'll laugh, maybe dance, and make sure the whole process feels effortless.
6. Get Photos You Can Actually Use
When the session is over, you’ll get a curated gallery of high-quality, on-brand images that you can use across your website, social media, press kits, email signatures — wherever your business needs to shine.
Your Brand Deserves to Be Seen
Investing in headshots is about more than photos. It’s about taking up space in your industry with confidence and clarity. If you’re a female entrepreneur in the Bay Area looking to level up your brand, I’d love to help you do it — powerfully and beautifully.
Let’s connect and create images that represent the best version of you.
What to wear to your summer photoshoot on the beach
You’ve booked your Summer of Self Love photoshoot — now it’s time to start dreaming about your outfits. This isn’t just a shoot; it’s a celebration of who you are right now. And what you wear should feel just as powerful, playful, and beautiful as you are.
Here are my favorite outfit ideas for capturing your energy, honoring your body, and looking absolutely stunning on camera:
1. Swimwear That Makes You Feel Sexy (and Secure)
Whether you're rocking a one-piece, bikini, or something custom — choose swimwear that highlights the parts of your body you love and makes you feel held. Think bold colors, high-waisted bottoms, supportive tops, or strappy silhouettes. Patterns are welcome too — florals, metallics, and retro vibes all photograph beautifully.
✨ Tip: Don’t stress about trends. Wear what you feel amazing in. Confidence is the most photogenic thing you can bring.
2. Lingerie That Feels Like an Extension of You
Soft lace, sheer mesh, bodysuits, bralettes — this is where we tap into your sensual side. You can go as bold or as delicate as you like. Lingerie doesn’t have to be revealing — a robe, silk set, or even an oversized button-down with pretty undergarments peeking through can be incredibly powerful.
✨ Tip: Bring options! Neutrals and rich tones (like burgundy, deep green, or bronze) look incredible in natural light.
3. Flowy Dresses & Skirts That Move With You
Movement adds magic. Flowy fabrics catch the breeze and create beautiful, ethereal shapes in photos. Long skirts, wrap dresses, off-the-shoulder maxi dresses, or even an open kimono can bring a soft, feminine energy to your shoot — especially when paired with bare feet or statement jewelry.
✨ Tip: Go for light fabrics (chiffon, cotton, silk blends) in soft or earthy tones for a dreamy, timeless look.
Bonus: Accessorize With Intention
A sunhat, body chain, anklet, or hair scarf can take a simple outfit to the next level. We’re not going overboard — we’re highlighting you. Choose pieces that tell a story or feel connected to your self-expression.
Still Not Sure What to Wear?
That’s okay — I’m here to help. When you book your session, we’ll chat about your comfort level, personal style, and how you want to feel in your photos. We’ll curate looks that make you feel empowered, not just styled.
This retreat is about reconnecting with yourself and seeing your beauty through a new lens. Let your wardrobe reflect that.
Let’s create something unforgettable — together.

Graduation Photos at William Land Park, Sacramento California
If you are looking for a location in Sacramento or are in a city near Sacramento and need a spot for photos or just to visit, William Land Park is your spot!
First off, congratulations to this amazing grad! Kathleen is graduating from Sacramento State University with a Masters of Science in Finance. She has worked for the state finance department and currently works with some of California’s largest companies helping with their finances. She has worked so incredibly hard, sometimes working two or three jobs and started a seasonal business all while earning her Bachelors and Masters!
Location
This giant park is located next to the Sacramento zoo and has a rock garden, ponds, ducks, geese, and miles of walking. Theres even a mini theme park, so this spot is perfect for spring weekends and summer days off!
Photoshoot Details
There is so much at william land park that it is impossible to stay in one spot. So we walked around the rock garden, ovr by the wall that blooms in the spring, and down to the pond with the ducks in the background!
I never leave posing up to my clients! Usually, clients have no modeling experience, so I don’t expect them to know how to stand or where to put their hands. I direct the entire photoshoot and guide clients to different little spots so we get variety.
Planning
Planning your photoshoot should be a seamless experience guided by your photographer! I always start with an initial free consultation to describe the process and make sure all your questions are answered. If you choose to book on that call, we will imediately dive into planning to save you time down the road. We will talk about locations, outfits, hair, and makeup to ensure you have everything you need to feel your very best during your photoshoot!
After I have gotten the details to your dream session, I will send a recap email so you have a written copy of everything that needs to be done before your session including location and time options and recommendations.
After your photoshoot
After your photoshoot, the experience continues. While I offer a variety of packages that includes a specific number of images, you have the freedom to choose which images you’d like to have. You also will have the option to purchase additional images if you’d like!
Once you have picked your photos, I will get to editing an usually have your final photos delivered to you in a password protected digital gallery! You have access to both your proofing and final gallery for up to five years. So, if later down the line you want to purchase additional images, you can definately do so! In addition to long term storage, you also get access to my professional printers directly from your gallery so you don’t have to waste time researching and you will get the best possible quality.
On top of all that goodness, you will also recieve 10% off any future photoshoots with me.
How to choose a photoshoot location
One of the first things that needs to be planned when planning your photoshoot, no matter the type, is where you’re going to have your photos taken. But, choosing the right location can be confusing, there are a lot of beautiful places, but what’s the best spot? Or, what’s the easiest to access? Are there parking or entrance fees? I’ll walk you through how I help my clients choose the perfect location for them!
Favorite location
If you are planning your photoshoot, I want you to consider any spots you have been to that you love. Think of first or favorite date spots! A picnic spot you loved, the spot you got proposed to at, an area you love to sit and watch the world go by! Spots that are meaningful to you are often the best location to choose for your photos, not only will they make your photos that much more meaningful, but a location you are already familiar with will make you feel more comfortable and have more fun!
Location Type
If you can’t think of a location that is particularly special to you, that’s okay! I always recommend thinking about the types of locations you love or fit your personality! For me, I really love the ocean and gardens so I might choose a beach location or a garden location. I also really love San Francisco, so maybe I would choose a beach in San Francisco! If you can’t think of a type of location, think of what you might want to wear, this can help you choose a location type. For example. If you feel really comfortable in a yellow sundress, you might want to consider a garden location surrounded by flowers or a beach location at sunset! If you’re wanting to dress up in a red carpet worthy dress you might want to consider a location like a ball room or city hall. The palace of fine arts a San Francisco City hall are great options for suit and ties and ball gowns! If you want to wear a long flowy dress, consider the beach. And if you want to wear cowboy boots and a hat, a field might be a good spot for you!
Next Steps
After you have decided the type of location you want, it’s time to narrow that down!
ask your photographer for locations like that within their range, they should a few options or be able to easily find one!

How to add Star Wars details into your wedding without being tacky.
We all love a good theme, but sometimes its hard to execute that theme without it being tacky! Here’s some of my tips for, specifically, a May 4th wedding where you want to add in Star Wars details but aren’t exactly sure how to go about it!
1. Elegant Accessories with Galactic Inspiration
Small pieces like replica or inspired jewelry, cuff links, and tie or bow tie designs are a great way to nod to the series. Think subtle emblems, character motifs, or colors that align with your favorite Star Wars figures. Look for metallic tones or minimalist engravings that pay tribute without overpowering your outfit.
2. Hair & Makeup Inspired by Iconic Heroines
Channel your inner Princess Leia, Padmé Amidala, or Rey with hair and makeup looks inspired by Star Wars’ leading ladies. From braided crowns to sleek updos and bold liner or natural beauty palettes, these looks bring an empowering energy while remaining elegant for any ceremony.
3. Star Wars-Inspired Cake Details
You don’t need a full-on themed cake to showcase your love for the saga. Add subtle patterns or textures from Star Wars ships, costumes, or symbols using edible gold, silver, or white finishes. A simple cake topper with a themed design—like silhouettes, quotes, or miniature characters—adds a tasteful finishing touch.
4. Signage, Stationery, & Music with Subtle References
Use classic fonts and calligraphy to include famous Star Wars quotes on your signage, invitations, or vows. This keeps the look refined while still speaking to your fandom. Enhance the atmosphere by using composed or classical arrangements of Star Wars music during the ceremony or cocktail hour. It’s a subtle way to set the tone that only the most attentive guests will recognize.
5. Floral Details from the Galaxy
Believe it or not, Star Wars features real-world flowers that you can incorporate into your bouquets and centerpieces. The Star, candle wick, damsel, and marina ring flowers have all appeared in the series. Including them adds a meaningful touch—especially for fans who know their lore.
6. Crowns, Tiaras & Headbands Fit for a Queen
Throughout the saga, queens and heroines have donned stunning headpieces. Consider incorporating dainty headbands, elegant tiaras, or celestial-inspired crowns as a nod to the regal women of Star Wars.
7. Color Palettes & Metals that Speak to Fans
From Naboo’s warm golds and creamy whites to the dark silvers of the Death Star, use Star Wars-inspired color schemes to build a cohesive design. Use metallic accents in your décor, table settings, and even bridal party attire. These details won’t scream “sci-fi,” but they’ll certainly resonate with fellow fans.
